PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal Tbk (IPCC), a subsidiary of Pelindo II, recorded that the loading and unloading of trucks/buses and heavy equipment segments increased in June 2021. The increase in performance was also recorded throughout the first semester of 2021. Investor Relations of Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal, Reza Priyambada, explained that the recovery of the mining and plantation industries, followed by the increase in a number of commodity prices in both industries, increased the need for transportation modes and heavy equipment. “In addition, the need for heavy equipment in a number of construction projects as infrastructure and property projects continue to increase demand in both segments,” he explained, Tuesday (13/7/2021). In June 2021, the loading and unloading of imported trucks / buses was 107 units, an increase of 28.92 percent from the same month last year.
The Volvo brand recorded the highest increase in June 2021 to 19 units where in the same month last year there were no imports of this brand. Followed by the Mercedes brand which rose from 6 units in June 2020 to 18 units and Hino from 5 units to 12 units in June 2021 and followed by other brands which also experienced an increase.
On the other hand, Truck/Bus exports also experienced a significant increase of 577.27 percent to 447 units from June 2020. Meanwhile, the Hino brand ranks first in the Truck / Bus export segment with 420 units in June 2021 from 63 units last year. Followed by the Komatsu brand as many as 17 units from previously no exports and Caterpillar up to 8 units from 2 units in June last year. In accumulation, during the first semester of this year the number of loading and unloading of imported trucks / buses increased by 46.01 percent to 768 units from the same period last year. Meanwhile, the Volvo brand handled 280 units during the first semester of 2021 from the first semester of 2020 of 35 units. Mercedes rose to 157 units from 112 units. Hino increased from 5 units to 39 units. Caterpillar during the first semester of this year rose to 21 units from 5 units in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the UD brand has the same number of 25 units for imports in the first semester of this year and last year. Meanwhile, the loading and unloading of export trucks/buses in the first half of this year fell slightly by 1.85 percent to 2,120 units from 2,160 last year. Although the total recorded a decline, the Hino brand recorded an increase in exports to 1,452 units from 413 units. Komatsu rose from 4 units to 58 units. Caterpillar rose to 37 units from 16 units. Meanwhile, export trucks/buses that recorded a decline included Isuzu which fell from 1,705 in the first half of last year to 552 units in the same period this year and Volvo which fell to 8 units from 15 units. Meanwhile, from the Heavy Equipment Segment, it was recorded that import loading and unloading increased by 392.63 percent in June 2021 to 468 units from the same month last year. The Komatsu brand contributed to the increase in imported Heavy Equipment with 163 units, above the number in June last year of 20 units. With the same period, followed by the Caterpillar brand which rose to 91 units from 15 units. Kobelco rose from 8 units to 86 units. Zoomlion rose to 34 units from June last year when there were no imports. Doosan rose to 33 units from 6 units in June 2020. From the accumulated amount, during the first semester of this year, imports of Heavy Equipment reached 1,934 units, up 10.39 percent from the same period last year. The Komatsu brand outperformed the number of Heavy Equipment imports by 599 units over the same period last year by 131 units. Followed by Kobelco up to 530 units from 227 units. Doosan rose from 70 units to 80 units. Volvo rose to 37 units from 9 units in the first half of last year. And other brands of heavy equipment also recorded an increase in imports. In June 2021, in terms of Heavy Equipment exports handled as many as 181 units at IPCC Terminal with an increase of 98.90 percent from the same month last year. The Hitachi brand came in first in Heavy Equipment exports in June 2021 with 69 units higher than June 2020 with 36 units. Sumitomo rose to 57 units from 41 units. Caterpillar increased from 4 units to 24 units and others. Meanwhile, as an accumulation throughout the first half of this year, the number of exported Heavy Equipment increased by 87.92 percent to 1,291 units compared to the same period last year. The Hitachi brand still dominates exports during the first semester of this year with a total of 596 units above the same period last year of 370 units. Sumitomo rose from 204 units to 406 units. Caterpillar rose to 137 units from 64 units. Komatsu rose to 77 units from 9 units in the first half of last year. Although in terms of revenue per cargo, the truck/bus and Heavy Equipment segments are still below the CBU segment where both segments contribute between 20 percent to 24 percent of total revenue and CBU contributes around 72 percent to 75 percent. “However, the increase in the number of loading and unloading services in the Truck/Bus and Heavy Equipment segments is considered to help IPCC Terminals to increase their revenue,” he said. On the other hand, the company is seeking cooperation with Heavy Equipment and Truck/Bus manufacturers as an effort to increase the market share of loading and unloading services at IPCC Terminal. Thus, it can later increase the potential revenue that can be obtained by IPCC.
